Who we are
Melomi is made by one independent developer. For any privacy question or request, use the Contact form at melomi.app/feedback.
What Melomi does
Melomi turns what you say or type into an original song. The words you provide and the songs the app creates for you are the core of the service.
What we collect
From whichever sign-in method you choose (Apple, Google, or email): your email address, and your name if the provider shares one. From your profile, if you add it: a handle, a short bio, and a birthday. Your content: the words you type or speak, the songs made for you, and their cover art. Technical: a per-install identifier and a one-way hashed identifier the server derives from your request. From Apple: whether you have an active purchase, never your card or payment details.
Why we collect it
To make your songs, run battles and gifts, keep plays and votes fair, and honor what you have purchased. Nothing here is collected to profile you for advertising.
Device identifier
To keep votes and free actions fair, the server derives a one-way hashed identifier from your request. We do not store your raw IP address or a name tied to it.
Who helps us run Melomi
A few services help run Melomi, and only for that purpose. Hosting runs on Fly.io. The database runs on Neon. Files, the audio and art, are stored on Cloudflare R2. Music and artwork generation services receive the words you submit, only to create your song and its cover art. Apple and Google handle optional sign-in. Resend delivers email sign-in codes. Apple also handles purchases. These companies process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.
What we do not do
No third-party ad networks. No selling your data. No hidden trackers. We do not store your raw IP address. Numbers shown in the app, like plays, wins, and plaques, are real event counts, never invented.
Cookies and tracking
The Melomi website and the pages that play a shared song set no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, and they do not track you across sites. Anything stored on your device is only what is strictly needed to play a song. Because none of this needs your consent, you will not see a cookie banner. If that ever changes, this policy will change first.
Sharing
A shared song is unlisted: reachable only by its link. You can retire any share or battle at any time, which removes the public page.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account and content while your account is active. When you ask us to delete it, we remove it. Use the Contact form at melomi.app/feedback to make that request, and where the option is available, you can also do it in the app.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to or restrict some processing, to receive your data in a portable form, and to withdraw consent you gave. You can complain to your local data-protection authority. To use any of these rights, use the Contact form at melomi.app/feedback.
Children
Melomi is not for anyone under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
Where your data is handled
Melomi's servers are in the United States. If you use Melomi from outside the United States, your data is processed there.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this policy and the date below.
